Why should you care about digital marketing?
Well, let’s look at the landscape today from something other than a business perspective. Jeff and Glen are two married guys, and we met our wives the old-fashioned way: We picked them up! Oh, we gest a bit but we met our wives in person, went on dates and established our relationships with a lot of in-person contact.
Go ask your average Millennial, Gen Zer or even Gen Xer how they met the person they’re dating or married to, and the answer is likely to be digital. You may hear “on the apps” or something akin to that.
The notion of someone meeting someone else at a social gathering or the new hot bar has become as quaint a notion as driving to work in a horse and buggy.
The same holds true outside the dating world. Today, someone finding your business isn’t going to stumble through the front door or find you in the Yellow Pages. Chances are they’re going to that new “hot bar” to find you. And that bar is called Google.
And this is what digital marketing is all about. The best digital marketing brings customers to you by connecting with them through search engines and other channels where they can find you and evaluate you next to your competition.
The first thing we explain to clients is that your website isn’t going to magically find you clients. Above other considerations, your website must appeal to Google. And, to return to our dating analogy for a moment, Google will be like a matchmaker, bringing you to potential matches who are looking for someone just like you.
Our digital direction is always to first appeal to Google. This doesn’t mean that we disregard or in any way minimize your prospective clients, just that we gear things to Google. We will build content on top of this Google-first approach that will put your best foot forward as clients read your website.
Will potential clients read your website? As a professional services firm, you bet they will! Your firm is one that will engage clients who will spend considerable money and need to invest a lot of trust in you as a professional and as a person. And we know from experience that potential clients really will read your website. What’s more, feedback from our work has left us feeling very good because of the positive reaction our clients have gotten from their clients. We love celebrating those good feelings all around!
You may ask, “What about other search engines and social media?” After all, you know about Bing and Yahoo. Bing has been gaining market share in desktop but is a very small player in the growing mobile segment. Yahoo is a small player in both. Other engines are insignificant and not worth the investment of resources that would boost your bill without results.
As for social media, other than LinkedIn, Google Profiles and Bing Places, we do not recommend that our clients use social media. Platforms like Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook aren’t really a great fit for lawyers, accountants and financial advisors. Neither are TikTok or YouTube. Our clients are much better off focusing on more narrow, straightforward channels that can yield results and not require them to spend resources unwisely.
The program used by Power Pair Marketing has returned impressive results for our clients, and we believe that your firm could benefit, too. Send us an email using our contact form, and let’s see if our approach and our program are a great fit for you. We look forward to meeting you.
